If you're thinking about getting a new piercing, read on for a guide to some of the most popular types.
Lobe piercing: The most common type of ear piercing, the lobe piercing is made through the fleshy part of the earlobe. This piercing is usually done with a small needle and is relatively painless.
Cartilage piercing: Cartilage piercings are made through the cartilage of the ear. These piercings are typically more painful than lobe piercings, but they can also be more dramatic. Some of the most popular types of cartilage piercings include the helix piercing (made through the outer rim of the ear), the tragus piercing (made through the small bump in front of the ear canal), and the industrial piercing (made through two pieces of cartilage connected by a barbell).
Daith piercing: The daith piercing is made through the small fold of cartilage that wraps around the ear canal. This piercing is said to help relieve migraines and headaches.
