Apple Caught Preparing Major Apple Maps Update Big Announcement Incoming

Apple Announces New Apple Maps Update: Too Little, Too Late?

Building a Google Maps Killer

A hidden piece of code found within the newest iOS update indicates that Apple is planning to add two significant features to Apple Maps later this year. The first is a “Search here” button that will make it easier for users to find nearby places, and the second feature will be an improved hiking mode that will provide detailed elevation data and topographic maps. These new features are a welcome addition to Apple Maps, but some users are wondering if they are too little, too late.

Apple Maps has long been criticized for its lack of features compared to Google Maps, which is considered to be the gold standard for navigation apps. While Apple Maps has made significant improvements in recent years, it still lacks many of the features that users have come to expect from a navigation app, such as the ability to download maps for offline use, real-time traffic updates, and transit directions.

The addition of a “Search here” button and an improved hiking mode are both welcome additions to Apple Maps, but it remains to be seen whether these features will be enough to convince users to switch from Google Maps. Apple Maps still has a long way to go before it can compete with Google Maps, and it is unclear whether these new features will be enough to close the gap.
