A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook the Los Angeles area on Friday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30 AM local time. The epicenter was located near the city of Ridgecrest, about 140 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
The earthquake was felt across a wide area, including the cities of Los Angeles, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood. Many residents reported feeling the shaking, including celebrities Paris Hilton and Khloe Kardashian.

Paris Hilton took to Twitter to share her experience of the earthquake, posting: "Just felt a pretty big earthquake in LA. Hope everyone is okay!"
Khloe Kardashian also shared her experience on social media, posting a video to her Instagram story. In the video, she can be seen looking shaken as she says, "I just felt an earthquake. That was crazy!"
No Major Damage or Injuries Reported
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), there were no reports of major damage or injuries as a result of the earthquake. However, some minor damage was reported, including cracked walls and broken windows.
